ILOG Discovery > Data Sets > Leads Analysis

This is a typical data set exported from a Siebel Marketing Response database. The leads.pjd project includes leads captured into Siebel over a period of time (2 weeks). The information captured is the response type and method, the current status, the date, country, product line, product and marketing campaign.

Product/Product Line Distribution

What you see

First, this view lets you see that product lines are overall balanced by number of leads, with Opal having more leads.

Second, you notice immediately that the Vera line has a relatively high number of unprocessed leads (light green), especially for product C. This may be due to the relatively small number of leads for this product.

You also notice that only product E has leads with status "WebRequest", which shows that it is sold differently.

This simple view can be used to identify products that are less diligently followed up by the sales force, or bottlenecks in the pipeline.

Geographical Distribution

What you see

This view shows the differences in product and product line distribution across countries. In order to focus in, select the navigation mode by clicking the icon at the top of the window, and then click a cluster. Double-clicking will bring you back to the top level.

Notice for instance that Opal has more leads in the US, whereas Vera has more leads in Germany and other unspecified countries.

Where Do The Leads Come From?

This treemap shows you the leads distributed by campaign name. The color indicates the product line for this lead, according to the accompanying legend.

What you see

In this view you can see that most Opal product line leads came from a Web seminar campaign. It is easy to measure the impact of this campaign.

If you want to try some interactive analysis, try sorting by date, and then by product. You see a lead volume profile by product. You can identify anomalies, like a specific product lead traffic dropping below a target level, and track it down to the campaigns.

Status by date graph

This is a 2D graph displaying the lead's status as a function of date.

What you see

In this view you can assess the regularity of the leads processing.
