You may be interested in discovering the relationship between numerical and categorical data. To achieve this, you can compare where a data item is displayed in different views. You can create multiple views in ILOG Discovery and display them side to side. You can also select items and propagate the selection to other views, to let you establish further relationships between items of your data set.

Here, we display 3 views: a parallel coordinates, a 2D graph and a grid of states. When selecting all cities within the state of california (CA group), you can see were california lies on the 2D graph in case you didn't knew it, and furthermore see in the parallel coordinates the values corresponding to each cities.
